Basically a boring game. It's true that the Spurs' partial bench (with 2 starters) outscored the GSW's bench, though not by as much as I thought. However, if you look at the stats of the game, you can see that the GSW bench actually managed to beat the Spurs in offensive rebounding by 20-7 (offensive rebounding is better indication of rebounding capability, defensive rebounding is more affected by poor shooting). They also produced fewer turnovers (15-18) & fouls (16-18). Both teams are about even when comparing steals + blocks. As a result, the Spurs actually attempted significantly more shots (92-77=15 shots). They also got more free throws (23-18). The main reason they lost the game is they shot poorly (worse than normal, partial credit to Spurs' defense). The game was almost determined by two players: McCaw, who normally is a rather good shooter, shot 0-12, and Mills, who shot way better than his norm. ...
